TOUR OF BRITAIN RETURNS TO DEVON 2020

The Tour of Britain will return to Devon next year, it has been announced today (Tuesday 5 November).

 

Devon County Council and Tour organisers SweetSpot have confirmed that Devon will host Stage Two of the UK’s premier cycle race in 2020.

The clocks go back on 27 October 2019 and Devon County Council is reminding all road users to ‘be bright, be seen’ as it gets darker and weather conditions get worse.

 

Sidmouth Flood Protection Scheme Plans

Plans for the second phase of a scheme to reduce flood risk to more than 100 homes and businesses in Sidmouth are due to be submitted next week.

Devon County Council is submitting the plans which will provide protection from surface water around the town area.

New footbridge will replace historic structure over the River Sid

The construction of the new footbridge, which will replace Alma Bridge, will get under way this month by Mac Plant Construction, which has been appointed by Devon County Council.

The scheme was granted planning permission in November last year.

Zapinamo secures £4m to provide 150 Superfast Chargers

Devon County Council (DCC) has formed a consortium with two private sector companies, ZAPINAMO and Gamma Energy, to install and operate 150 electric car charge points on the streets of Exeter over the next two years.
